CIMIC AND CIVIL AFFAIRS TO DISCUSS PROJECTS

The MNCG and CA operators met to outlined the programmatic lines for future cooperation

Djibuti, June, 2021.
In recent weeks, the CIMIC operators, as part of at the Italian Military Support Base, met the representatives of the Civil Affair East Africa (CA EA) unit of the Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) of the US contingent to share the respective activities and identify possible future areas of collaboration.
Projects, contacts, civil-military liaison activities, functional specialists and procedures are some of the topics addressed.
The operators of Motta di Livenza delivered a briefing about the courses developed at the Mario Fiore Barracks in order to outline the training methods dedicated to the figure of the CIMIC operator, as well as the employment the unit within NATO, EU and in operational theatres.
The meeting represented an important moment of discussion and sharing, confirming that the two "functions" have many points in common.
The synergy between the parties is part of the policy guidelines of the Coordinating Committee, which expressly requested to try to widen the Participating Nations basin.
The USA, in this context, would represent very important partner.
