MISSION STATEMENTCJ7 branch, in co‑ordination with other staff branches of Multinational CIMIC Group, is to provide CIMIC training and education at the Operational and Tactical level for military personnel and civilians at a reasonable cost, in order to enhance the CIMIC capabilities of the Multinational CIMIC Group, participating nations, cooperating nations and other organisations with a view to supporting a military mission. TASK AND ACTIVITIES
TARGET AUDIENCEMN CIMIC Group’s courses are generally open, with different priorities and percentages to:
remaining personnel; despite "first come, first served" policy will apply, Course Director maintain overall responsibility on student selection process in accordance with NATO and MNCG priorities. Training and education will be developed in such a way that maximum participation of the students can be achieved through syndicate work and panel discussions in order to consolidate knowledge obtained from formal lectures, to encourage discussions and synthesise ideas. Besides the training of CIMIC personnel of the participating nations, this CIMIC Training centre will be able to train other CIMIC personnel and civilian personnel as well. The CJ7 branch will also be available to play a role in CIMIC education on a national basis for the armed forces of the participants on request and subject to availability.
TRAINING AND EDUCATION OFFERNATO CIMIC FIELD AND STAFF WORKER COURSE (NCFWC - NCSWC):NCFWC-NCSWC is a new education architecture which allows students to attend a modular course through an initial Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) module provided by CCOE and a final residential phase at MNCG. During the final phase each student will conduct a common stage, based on an initial ADL warm-up and basic lectures (1st week) and a separate one based on a field training exercise facing with complex crisis of a failed State (2nd week). NCFWC-NCSWC is an evolution of the previous NCBC, more tailored and responding to the requirements of NATO and UN CROs, Peace Keeping and modern operational environments. NCFWC-NCSWC will give the opportunity to students to increase the practical training such as Syndicates and Assessments as well as better experience the job of CIMIC players at tactical and operational level. 2 week’s course (10 working days) organized in class lectures, syndicate work and a field exercise of three days. CIMIC Functional Specialist Course (CFSC):1 week’s course (5 working days) organized in class lectures and syndicate work. Aim of the course is to provide the Functional Specialist (FS) (*) and the generic individual military or civilian student with a basic understanding of principle tasks, functions and organisation of CIMIC in NATO and of his/her work as a FS in the military CIMIC framework. Course objective is also to enable the FS to fulfil his/her special duty as an element of NATO CIMIC Assets, especially in Crises Response Operations (CRO). (*) Functional Specialists (FS) are military or civilian personnel with an expertise in different fields such as: Civil Administration, Civil Infrastructure, Humanitarian Affairs, Economy & Commerce, and Cultural Affairs.
CIMIC Liaison Module (CLM):4 working days’ course (Monday to Thursday) organized in class lectures and syndicate work. Course is designed to provide former NATO CIMIC Basic course’s students with knowledge, skills and tools needed to improve their Liaison capabilities. Course content includes CIMIC Liaison Officer’s profile, task and responsibilities, CIMIC Liaison field experiences, cultural awareness, ecc.. CIMIC Mission Specific Preparation Course – CIMIC MSPCPre-deployment course on request. Course is Mission tailored and designed to provide CIMIC insight on specific Theatres of Operations. CIMIC MSPC’s main target audience is MNCG Participating Nations’ personnel about to be deployed to Operational Theatres. Access to the course will be granted to a small percentage of selected civilian personnel from IOs, GOs and NGOs.
CIMIC Instructors / Mobile Education & Training Teams (METT) to NATO HQs and Non-NATO Agencies/HQs/EntitiesMNCG supports the NATO CIMIC Instructor support plan, providing instructors to several CIMIC courses, included the NATO School Oberammmergau, as coordinated during the yearly NATO CIMIC Education Conference. On top of NATO CIMIC Courses, MNCG provides support to national military and civil institutions, such as Universities and Research Institutions, engaged in CIMIC related issues. This support is a secondary task for MN CIMIC Group and must not jeopardise the predominant Operational role of the MNCG. This support could consist of:

TRAINING AND EDUCATION ADVERTISINGCourses, seminars, workshops and CIMIC training news in general will be published as appropriate in MNCG official web portal pages and other institutions’ web pages such as: CIMIC Center of Excellence (CCoE), CFC/CMO, Reliefweb, ecc. A newsletter will be periodically sent out to interested subscribers with the last CIMIC training information.

LODGING AND TRANSPORTATIONMNCG does’t have any internal lodging capability. Hotel booking remains a student responsibility. MNCG Protocol Office can assist in the process, providing a list of Hotels which have granted special fares to MNCG students. The Hotels listed by MNCG Protocol Office will be connected with the course premises by a free daily shuttle bus. Room prices include breakfast and differ according to the hotels (details will be communicated to students in due time). DRESS CODEDress code for all MNCG courses is Combat uniform (BDU) for military personnel, casual dress for civilians. On the last day military personnel are allowed to attend the course in civil clothes to facilitate travel arrangements.
