The MNCG has organized and run a special CIMIC session training from 27 June to 1 July 2011, in favor of military personnel from Italian Navy Rgt S. Marco, Army 152° Infantry Regiment and Army 66° Airborne Regiment, appointed to be deployed in Afghanistan,. The whole activity, conceived as a specific training on job, has aimed at improving the CIMIC capabilities and participants’ knowledge also by direct testimonies of field experiences. The target audience was composed by not only military personnel charged of covering CIMIC job positions abroad in the next future at every level of command within ISAF mission, but also by military personnel from other branches of the same framework structure, usually working in close cooperation and coordination with CIMIC operators. The course, located at MNCG HQ and lasting 5 days, had the main purpose to provide the students with CIMIC awareness on NATO CIMIC doctrine, cultural awareness, communication and negotiation, working with interpreter, Regional Command West and Italian Provincial Reconstruction Team HQ structures and organization.
