CIMIC Mission Specific Preparation Course 2/2011

The MNCG has organized and run the 2nd special CIMIC session training of the year, from 13th to 15th December 2011, towards military personnel from ITA GARIBALDI Bde, scheduled to be deployed in Afghanistan in 2012. The whole activity, conceived as a mission specific training, aimed at improving the CIMIC capabilities and enabling the participants to fulfill their special duties within ISAF CIMIC structure. In fact, the lectures and the syndicates were supported, as usual, by first-hand ISAF experience provided by military and civilian personnel who have already accomplished a duty tour in Afghanistan. The audience was composed by military personnel appointed to cover CIMIC positions at different level within the ISAF framework (Regional Command West, Provincial Reconstruction Team as well as different Task Forces). The 3-days course, located at MNCG HQ, had the main purpose to provide the students with CIMIC principles and general awareness on NATO CIMIC doctrine, cultural awareness, historical afghan background, inter-ethnic relations, negotiation, Regional Command West and Italian Provincial Reconstruction Team HQ structures and organization as well as highlighting best practices proved to be essential within the Civil-Military improvement.
