University of Padua CIMIC Peacekeeping Training 15-17 November 2011

As stated into the Memorandum of Understanding signed on October 2009 between the Interdepartmental Centre of Research and Services on Human and People Rights of University of Padua and the Multinational CIMIC Group, the general common collaboration purpose in order to plan and realize educational activities related to the sectors of international organizations of Human Rights and Peace, Humanitarian Aid, Peace Building and Civil-Military Cooperation, also this year the MNCG has organized a special CIMIC Peacekeeping Intensive Training for the 2011 Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Istituzioni e Politiche dei diritti umani e della pace.

The working session has been conducted from 15 to 17 November 2011 at Mario Fiore Barracks, home of MNCG, in favor of 36 students from Brazil, Italy and Moldova and two Tutors from Interdepartmental Centre of Padua University.

The whole activity has aimed at providing the audience with the NATO CIMIC basics and capabilities, encompassing a special focus on new comprehensive approach policy as well as on civil dimension.

Very interesting and useful for the students the case study applied to the negotiation simulation and the field experiences and best practices told by military CIMIC operators deployed in ISAF mission in Afghanistan and UNIFIL mission in Lebanon.
